"That flight's been canceled."
"What do you mean canceled? The information monitor lists it as on schedule," I was not happy. A long and difficult work week away from home and family had finally ended with this fresh obstacle facing us. I was unhappy but my business colleague was steamed! Faced with imperious indifference he blew his top as he not too gently informed the airline employee that his response was not acceptable.

I often receive comments telling me how "courageous" I am fighting my medical problems. I even had one doctor tell me I was "a tough old bird" (doubtless a turkey). I never know how to respond to these comments. I don't feel particularly courageous or special.

"Do you have any books on UNIX?" I asked the reference librarian at one of our local libraries some years ago (before I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis). The man seemed taken aback and a bit nervous. He looked at me strangely like I was some weirdo that had just wandered off the street and was going to attack him.

The following question was emailed to me by my grandson, "Can a humun sirviev in a space suet on mars?" This is my answer.
Yes, humans can survive in a space suit on Mars but only for short periods of time as long as the space suit has enough air and batteries (or power). The suit also needs a few other qualities too

Staples!? I guess they ran out of duct tape and bailing wire. Couldn't tell if they used spit to put me back together but I wouldn't be surprised. I lost my balance and fell the other day cracking the back of my head open. In the emergency room they stapled me back together. Ironically all this happened just after I'd posted an article describing had well I was progressing on my recovery. Well it was good news at the time but I spoke too soon. Clearly it doesn't do to get too cocky.
What happened? You ask.
