Our first full day at dawned with me sleeping with the back wedge we bought to relieve the pain in my lower back while traveling (I have a hospital bed at home but we can't travel with that!). We had ordered some juice and coffee the night before and it was delivered while I was still in bed. Grandma got out of the shower, threw on a robe, and opened the door for delivery. She'd put on a Princess robe before opening the door. The robes provided by Princess looked nice but didn't quite do the job. As grandma said, "They're one size fits all provided you're small".
Copyright © GetOdddNews and Grandpa Oddball December 19, 2011.
Handicapped accessibility seems to be the current buzz word with respect to travel. As many disabled people know it is often ignored and frequently misunderstood. Princess is an exception. We found that they really did an exceptional job especially when you book through a Princess representative as we did. Just be sure to inform them that you need to book a handicapped stateroom and book early (the handicapped rooms on a cruise tend to fill up fast according to the disabled travel agent we met on the cruise).
Copyright © GetOdddNews and Grandpa Oddball December 14, 2011.

Another week of gloom (and doom?) here in the Pacific Northwest. Fortunately we had no rain last Sunday so grandma and I were able to get outside for awhile. Grandma took me to a local wetland's park which was interesting. In spite of it being so wet that the boardwalk trail was impassible in spots we managed to spend enough time outside to recharge my mental health.
Hard to believe I know. I can hardly believe it myself. Time doesn't march on inexorably; it simply evaporates leaving behind a residue full of memories, emotions, and past regrets !! Just yesterday we were married and now two children and two grandchildren later we are celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary.
Copyright © GetOdddNews and Grandpa Oddball January 31, 2011.
